Galway Girl by Ed Sheeran- Real Life

Ok Y’all! Today was a fantastic day. Ireland is the gift that keeps on giving!! This trip is the perfect balance of creativity and relaxation. I know I’m doing meaningful things, but I’m also on break. It’s amazing!!

We began our morning on St Patrick’s Mount, the same mountain Saint Patrick himself climbed (hence the name). The view from the hill was amazing, it took my breath away (literally after all that climbing). I’d have to say though, the real majesty was actually at the bottom of the hill. At the bottom of the hill, a statue of the Virgin Mary resided. While looking at the statue and taking in the beauty that surrounded me, I could’ve sworn the Holy Spirit was right there as well.

We then crossed the street to look at the National Famine Memorial. Here stood a remake of a Coffin Ship that would take millions of Irish people who were forced to immigrate during the Famine. Most did not survive. On a much lighter note, neighboring this memorial was a herd of sheep! Sheep always put a smile on my face :)

We hopped on the bus and began our trip once more. We passed magnificent mountains, more sheep, and the dazzling beauty that is Ireland. We stopped twice to look at a waterfall, some sheep and the view. I took as much of it as possible.

For lunch, we made it to the Purple Door Cafe in Leenaun, Ireland. I had a great sandwich that I couldn’t finish and a chocolate muffin that knocked my socks off. We finished up there with a bit of shopping.

Next was a long drive to Galway. In Galway, we visited a beautiful Cathedral. I walked around and took it all in. It was probably the prettiest church I have ever stepped foot in. We then got to our hotel, shopped and ate dinner. Shopping in Galway was super fun. All the little shops and the lively young people were refreshing. Spending time with my friends here was definitely a highlight of my day.

I had another 10/10 day and I hope the rest of the trip continues this way. See you tomorrow!
