Like all good things, our wondrous week exploring Ireland must come to an end. We made the best of our last day in Ireland, savoring every last taste.
We made our way back to Dublin this morning, driving back the way we came. We stopped at the first stop we stopped at, drove down the same highway and saw the same grasslands. When we finally arrived in Dublin, John drove us around and gave us a proper tour. We saw the park, the jail, many monuments and more. Dublin is very different from the little towns and mountainous landscape we saw before in Ireland, however, it has its own kind of beauty. The buildings are full of history and the streets are lively with new stories being made.
After taking a tour of Dublin, we hopped off the bus to grab food. We didn’t want to stray too far from Trinity College, so we ended up eating at McDonald's. Mcdonald’s in Dublin is not anything different than at home. In fact, home is better, much better. Do not trust the Irish with American food. At least not McDonald’s.
After eating food and killing time by walking around Dublin, we went to see the Book of Kells. It is the oldest Bible still in existence. The college flips one page every day. The best part was the Long Room. This room is a giant library filled with a bunch of old, restored books. It looked like it was straight out of Harry Potter.
The day came to a close just as quickly as it began. Everyone was tired and ready to head back to the hotel. Ireland has been an amazing experience full of inspiration, charm and adventure. I hope others experience this trip and all it has to offer. Thank you for sharing this trip with me!!!
